- the making of...the place to be - part3

I had spent playing the game and tweking the controls for 1 month so i was the best in the world playing my game, specially the expert mode map. It was time to make easier progressive levels.

One of the main problems i was going to face was the filesize. That´s why i used only 1 piece to make the whole 10 levels. All the walls are instances of 1 object and i used the same walls for some levels by linking them.

I changed the colors and used this yellow, purple, red mix which looks great.

now i am going to analize the design stage by stage:

STAGE 1:This is stage 1. As you can see it it very simple. Just go forward, pick the ball and touch the end of level ball. i added a small gap in between so that you understand that you have to fly (and press the correct button.)

STAGE 2:Here you learn how to control the spaceship a bit. There is a 90º turn and 2 balls to collect.

STAGE 3:This is just like stage 2 but with 2 90º turns to the opposite direction and 3 balls to collect. it is too easy, isnt it?

STAGE 4:Oh, you thought this was too easy for you? Now, you will have to die then. This is a straight corridor with moving things in the middle. It is not as difficult as it looks because the big blocks only rotate 180º so you have plenty of time.

STAGE 5: Now that you know how to turn it is time to learn how to move vertically. There is a narrow corridor with balls at different heights. Some people find it easy, others really difficult. ah, humans...

STAGE 6: This level follows a straight line but the main challenge is that you have to go through a tunnel. Here you learn how to maintain the ship at a certain height.

STAGE 7: Here you will apply what you have learned so far. There are lot of turns and different heights. You have to go throught small doors, fall down and enter other rooms. It is very cool.

STAGE 8: This is inspired in level4 but with the main difference that is much more difficult. you have to collect the balls that are inside those small perpendicular corridors, turn 180º inside them and go back to the main corridor.

STAGE 9: One of the levels that is more "free flying". In this one you have a more or less defined route but you can take shortcuts to collect the balls. Near the end is a very large vertical tube. Experts only!!

FINAL STAGE: All great games need a great ending...So here you have, a giant rotating block inside a tube? Demonstrate that you are a hero and collect the balls!!

So, that was it. i started with a moving cube and ended up with 3 versions of the game. I hope you like it. :-)

why are you reading this when you could be playing it?
